Media Analysis Reflection

My biggest takeaway from Media Analysis is from the fake news unit. Ever since we learned about analyzing what is fake news and what is not, it makes me think more on my timeline today. It made me realize how much people rely on their echo chambers. I do believe that other schools should offer a Media Analysis course at their school. Students should know the meaning of an echo chamber and how some are stuck in one. I don’t think people realize how much they trust their media in their echo chamber until they learn about it. The unit I really enjoyed learning was the ad unit. It was interesting to see how companies would make their ads and how everything was done for a reason. After learning about the ad unit, I looked as advertisements more closely. I would look at the placement and what the company wants their audience to pay attention to. Overall, I enjoyed this class very much because it was different from my other usual classes. I enjoyed saying my thoughts on whichever topic. I recommend the upcoming seniors to take Media Analysis. What I suggest for the upcoming seniors taking this course is to get started early on the blogs. I waited till the last night for most of them, which caused anger. You will regret it if you do not do it earlier, trust me.
